Patricia ("Pat") Dionne Black holds an MBA from Temple University's Fox School of Business, and a BBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
Although she has spent many decades in business leadership roles, she has always been writing…From writing “tall tale” assignments in grade school, to business writing in her career, as well as magazine articles, short stories, and submissions to writing contests. Kiss It Up to God is her debut novel and has already garnered the highly respected National Indie Excellence Awards (NIEA) title of “Winner” of the “African American Fiction” Category, as well as the title of “Finalist” in the “Historical Fiction” Category! The NIEA recognizes books that demonstrate the highest qualities in content and form, including, but not limited to, writing craft, originality, design, and reader impact.
Pat is a tea enthusiast and storyteller. When not bringing her characters to life, her interests include travel; touring mansions, castles, and plantations; listening to jazz; reading; patronizing the arts; Black vintage films; genealogy; and coaching emerging leaders and beyond. Originally from Bridgeport, CT, she currently lives near Philadelphia, PA.
