I have loved creative writing since I was a kid, writing short stories and poetry. I love birds and animals, too, and wanted to combine these passions. I was inspired to write UPLIFT, my debut novel, to give animals a voice and let readers "see" the world through their eyes. By telling an entertaining and engaging story, I hope it can inspire greater understanding and compassion for these creatures.

With a 35-year career in conservation and environmental health and safety, I co-founded the Teton Valley chapter of Master Naturalists. Prior to that, I was founder and CEO of Green Futures Unlimited , a consulting firm, and taught sustainable business at the University of California - San Diego. I was Director of Environmental Health & Safety for Pfizer, Inc. where I was honored with the prestigious Pfizer Achievement award.

I hold degrees from the University of Michigan, an MPH from the School of Public Health and a BS from the School for Environment and Sustainability.
