Heidrun Metzler is an award-winning author, passionate baker, photographer, and storyteller whose work bridges tradition and culture. Her acclaimed book, German Heritage Baking, Volume I, won Best International Cookbook and Best Interior Design in the 2025 American Legacy Book Awards and was a Winner for Regional Cookbooks and a Finalist for Cover Design in the prestigious National Indie Excellence® Awards. Her engaging videos invite audiences to explore how baking connects us across generations through flavor, family, and shared history. Metzler inspires with warmth, authenticity, and a deep respect for craftsmanship—both in the kitchen and on the page. Metzler also authored a children's book called Skeeter's Dreams, which features her horse, Skeeter.
When she is not testing recipes or writing, Heidrun enjoys spending time with her horses, photography, and hiking in the Pacific Northwest. Heidrun lives on a farm in Hawaii with her husband, three horses, two cats, and a peacock.
